Adventurer's Surprise
Language
This world is an amazing place, but I wish I understood all these symbols. I somehow understand the locals, when they talk to me but I can't read anything. All the road signs are in the same sort of language as the sign outside the town hall. But, when Jina showed me the ruins near to where she's been camping there was another set of symbols, she was just as bemused when I told her I had no clue what it said. Maybe between us ( Jina and I ) we will make some sense out of things, and hopefully help me read the signs. She suggested I talk to someone named Najuma in a place called Bahari Bay for a glider, before we could do the next step. If only I could read the sign posts. But thankfully she marked my map with the location of the path that leads you there. So, next task on my list of tasks is to gather the materials Najuma needs to make this glider I need.
House of Mystery
When I arrived in Bahari, I could clearly see it was a different place. The trees were different, most I couldn't chop down with the axe I was given by Ashura. Same with the rocks, they were blackish in colour. I wonder what they are. After Najuma gave me the list of items she needed for the glider I decided to explore a bit while I was here. I soon stumbled on a house that had a different look to the others I had seen so far. I went down and knocked on the door, no answer. I pushed the door and it opened. I called out, but no answer again. I took a deep breath and walked in. There was a strange green glow in the adjoining room, that came from some sort of cooking pot. I gulped. This did not seem normal compared to everything I had seen so far. I ran out and got home as soon as I could.
Ancient Ruins
I went back to the ruins where Jina first saw me and took a few pictures. I don't recognise anything here but according to Jin these are supposed to be human ruins. But, how come I don't recognise anything nor understand the symbols. Hopefully Jina will help me recover my memories while I help her write her thesis.
According to Jina this is the first time humans were appearing on Palia. I wonder why now. What has happened to make this happen?
I explored further, after all I had come all the way here to find clues to my mysterious arrival. In one of the other rooms there was what appeared to be a statue of a phoenix. I wonder what that had to do with the humans, hmm. I seem to be getting more questions than answers.
What was even crazier, is that when I knelt down to brush off some dust at the base of the statue, a strange light and an echoing noise surrounded me and I felt calm and focused. I swear it has helped me focus while writing my reports. If only I had had my camera ready to capture it all, maybe next time when it happens.
Memorials
It seems that the locals have had a colourful past. Pirates, monsters, fighters and warriors, and, cursed treasure. Hopefully there aren't any more of these around now. I wonder if any of these memorials are connected to the locals I have seen about the place.
