Ashura

Ashura
13th August 2023

Ashura spotted me and asked me if I had seen Reth, the cook who works at the inn during the day. He feels for Reth and Tish, his sister. Reth has been looking after Tish, and then he clammed up and suggested I speak to Reth about that stuff. And, while I was at it, remind him of his chores.

Ashura told me that at night glowing fauna and flora appear. He went all mystical though, saying night was a magical time in the astrological cycle,

After I had tracked down Reth and helped him with his tasks I let Ashura know of the situation. He was surprised that Reth had showed his sensitive side to me. But, he did ask me to keep an eye on Reth as he needed more friends.

When I bumped into Ashura later in the day he told me that Eshe, the Magistrate, that she found it strange that he helped the humans settle in so much. He explained that he was doing what he would want someone do for him. He said he feels that despite coming from different backgrounds we have some things in common.

When I asked about the picture by his desk he told me it was a picture of his wife Sabine, who he misses terribly. She died a couple of years back. She helped him set up the inn and sometimes he finds it hard to go on. He manages by dealing with things one day at a time. Every day he visits her memorial at the Remembrance Garden and leaves a new set of Sundrop Lillies there. He said he couldn't find any today, so I decided to find some and do it on his behalf. He was very thankful and didn't expect me to do that.

Later on, he added that Sabine is not to be felt sorry for as she is now in the Dragon's Realm. It is those who are left behind that we should feel sorry for.

My trip to Ashura today resulted in an advanced sawmill recipe.I didn't really need to use it right now though so will wait until I need it, not that I have the resource to make it at the moment, anyway.

8th August 2023

Ashura told me he loves the valley, each day the crickets chirp a different song, different flower scents are blown around with the wind. Monotony is for those that aren't looking hard enough, he says.

Ashura congratulated me on my skill progression with foraging and gave me a list of recipes I could choose from.

Apparently there are some spooky legends around Kilima, such as the old well reportedly being haunted. And some people say there is a monster roaming the forest. Nai'o apparently used to use that tale to scare his little brother Auni.

Ashura let me know there were a lot of ways to enjoy myself in the valley. He fishes for fun. Auni, the post boy, explores in the woods for fun. Badruu, the farmer, listens to the music in the inn for hours.

When I spoke to Ashura today as we were walking to the inn he praised me for embracing foraging and told me that he and his son used to forage all the time. And then promptly offered me another recipe.

He told me that he has a room above the inn. It's enough for his lonesome self. But, most of the time he meets and greets new people and makes new memories.

3rd August 2023

Ashura gave me some recipes including one for a sawmill to make things easier.

I had found him fishing and he explained that he fishes for relaxation. He couldn't even recall if he had ever caught anything.

2nd August 2023

Ashura welcomed me to Kilima today. He introduced himself as the innkeeper of Ormuu's Horn. But, couldn't offer me a room as they were full.

However, there were some plots of land to the North East where I could make myself a tent. I just needed to use the axe he gave me and grab a pick from the resident miner Hodari. Who, just happened to be at the lots checking them out.

He gave me a map and marked out where the plots of land were and told me to come back to him if I got lost.
