Auni expressed pride when he saw how far I had come in bug catching and hoped one of his new belts would help him speed ahead of me. But, of course, I could get one of them as well. As long as I didn't catch all the bugs.

Auni let me onto his reason for not liking farming. He hates vegetables and farming is all about vegetables.

12th August 2023

Auni had some more goodies from the Bug Scouts he needed me to take off of his hands before his mother went crazy.

Later in the day he gave me a smoke candle. Apparently it lets me sneak up to the bugs and make catching them easier. I will have to test that theory out.

He told me about a Firebreathing Dragonfly he had caught once, but his mother had told him to get rid of it in case it burnt the house down.

8th August 2023

Auni told me today that I had progressed to the next tool level and showed me what he had I could pick from. Hopefully the bugs will be easier to catch this time.

He told me later in the day that the humans arriving were the coolest thing to happen in Kilima in like forever. He's a young one, so I accept that he may have been exagerating somewhat.

7th August 2023

Auni worried me today. He spoke about running away to some place exciting. But then said he was kidding for the most part. His face seemed to imply otherwise.

4th August 2023

Delaila had tasked me to deliver the meals to her sons who had forgotten them in their excitement to leave the house this morning.

When I saw Auni later in the day he mentioned the animals at the farm. There are ormuus who are cute when babies and pekis which scare him. When he was little ( well more little I suppose ) he had been trying to collect eggs from them but one of them chased him out of the barn.

I bumped into Auni at the inn playing cards with Hassian. I watched for a while and when Hassian left with a glare at me, Auni gushed out about his entrepenuer badge he was working towards. He mentioned a new smoke bomb that he has available and that more will be added when we show the bug scout group how many bugs we have caught so far.

3rd August 2023

I bumped into Auni again today and he told me to practise some more bug catching but be aware that some come out at certain times.

He told me that his family runs the local farm and that his mother has won blue ribbons at the fair multiple times. He said millions of years but I suspect he's exaggerating.

I spent some time bug catching and hunted down Auni to show off what I had caught. He told me he would mail me a reward later.

He mentioned someone called Hassian, who he plays cards with. Apparently Reth beats him so many times that Auni lets him win when they play. Such a nice boy.

2nd August 2023

Auni the mail delivery boy came to visit me when I first arrived at my new home since I arrived in this place. How he managed to stand up with that big mail bag on his back amazes me. Maybe these people are stronger than us humans.

His mother, Delaila, appears to be on top of things and was talking about the new human arrival so Auni just had to run straight over to see me. Cute boy. She stopped him long enough to give him a housewarming gift for me.

However, before he could give it to me, he had to recite his introductory speech regarding his mail duties. Twice a day 6am and 6pm. That should be easy enough to remember. Although, I didn't really know anyone who would send me mail to worry about it.

How he did it I don't know, but somehow whilst he was talking to me he had deposited some mail in the mailbox. Ding. The mail box announced I had mail. How useful.

I mentioned the strange artifact I had dug up while cutting some trees down and breaking the rocks at Hodari's suggestion earlier. he suggested I take it to Jina who hangs out near the ruins.

He almost forgot, but he eventually remembered his own present for me. A set of smoke bombs and a Bug Scout belt. I guess I am a member of the Bug Scout group now.

He also suggested I speak to his dad Badruu regarding growing food and Reth in the inn on how to cook it. Looks like I have my first set of villagers to meet already.
